Korbel Prosecco Sparkling Wine D.O.C.

We are not a super big Valentine's Day couple that goes all out on that one day, we do things throughout the year for each other. This year we cooked together using one of our Blue Apron kits and had a glass of Prosecco as well. This bottle of Prosecco from Korbel was enjoyed by one of us but not the other since it was not as sweet as the bottles reviewed on our Youtube channel. Although we had peanut curry chicken as our meal this was surprisingly a decent pairing.

This sparkling wine isn't super bubbly once it is poured into the glass. There are small steady streams of bubbles but not many of them. It is a slight off-white cream color to it.

The nose is faint with hints of pear, honey, and green apples.

On the bottle, it is described as extra dry. This is an accurate statement, unlike the previous one that we had in a recent video. There is also a tartness to it that gets you in the back of the mouth but not as much as biting into a lemon. While tasting, it is simple and short finish. There are the continued notes of pear, green apple, and honey, along with a minerality, citrus, and peach.

For the average price point of this bottle of Prosecco, it is a decent value option in the world of sparkling wine. One of us (Kasondra) didn't prefer it since they think everything should be sweet like dessert and that a spoonful of sugar isn't just for making the medicine go down.

On Vivino, it is rated as a 3.5 and we would say that is the correct rating for it.
