Hot Sun Tomato Wine

Here we have another offering out of Panama City Beach Winery. I know what you are thinking, who in the world would make tomato wine? Well, these folks did it, and while I was leery of sampling it, to say the least, Alex thought why not, so we tried it. The nice people at the winery offered another sampling choice for anyone in the group that didn't want to try the tomato wine, but I wasn't about to back down now. I was pleasantly surprised that it was like drinking a mild bloody Mary. They also offered us spicy crackers to go with it and that kicked up the bloody Mary vibes with the addition of the spices.

Appearance: Light amber color

Nose: tomato, spice, salsa

Palate: bloody mary, tomato soup, spices, pepper

While I wouldn't go out and buy bottle after bottle of this, I can see where there is a market for it. If you like bloody Marys or spicy V8 this could be the wine for you, and I would bet that this is a great compliment to fresh oysters.
