This time we will try a new limited release from the master distillers at Hendrick's. I never thought we would be gin people, but here we are buying bottles to make gin and tonics. I'm not sure but I feel like this drink actually makes us feel like real grown-ups. Although there is a certain Drew out there that got one of us drinking gin and tonics while away on a business trip. I guess thanks Drew
Appearance: clear and colorless
Nose: light juniper, coriander, floral but I can't put my finger on it. I want to say rose and maybe some lilac
Palate: you get the classic juniper flavor but not with a big punch like you would from a London dry, hints of black licorice similar to a good and plenty candy, and floral notes. It does have the alcohol burn and taste on the front end as well.
This release feels very similar to Neptunia from Hendrick's. I feel the Neptunia may have had less of the juniper notes. If you are looking for a complex gin that doesn't hit your mouth with the juniper notes this may be the gin for you. I intend to try this in a Wildgarden Cup cocktail soon. If you are interested in that cocktail stay tuned to our YouTube Channel where I will make it for you. If you can't wait for our video the recipe is on Hendrick's official website.
