If you have watched our YouTube channel you may have seen the video we did on Buffalo Trace Products. We tested out original Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare 10 year, and Benchmark Small Batch in order to see if the price difference was worth it. All three bourbons have the same mash bill and are produced by Sazerac at the Buffalo Trace distillery so we were not expecting much change in the flavor profiles. That said let's get down to our tasting notes on the Benchmark which here in middle Georgia was about 18.99 for the bottle. This a 90 proof bottle of Kentucky Straight Bourbon. It's hard to find more on the Benchmark brand.

Color: Golden Amber

Nose: Sweet, vanilla, butter, caramel, lightly apple

Palate: It has a sweet burn, little toffee, cherry, cinnamon, and chocolate on the very back end as well as ash

For a bourbon under 20 dollars, I don't know if it gets much better. I enjoy this brand from Buffalo Trace. I don't know that it is as sweet as I remember from the first time trying it but I would definitely recommend it. If you would like to see which of the Buffalo Trace products won out in our blind tasting hit the link below and check out our video.
